Todd is the result
of a cross that we had high hopes for producing an exceptional
bitch puppy. This had been the norm for his sire, Button Top
Willie, in the past, as many of Todd's half sisters have proved
to be wonderful working and conformation terriers. The hallmark
of Willie's children is a keen nose and lots of hunt drive.
Of course, when the outstanding puppy turned out to be as nice
as Todd, we were elated, regardless of gender! And he seemed
to know he was special from the git-go.
Todd has done well
in conformation, under a variety of judges, earning several
conformation championships as both a puppy and an adult. Structurally,
his shoulder is well laid-back. His movement is very fluid,
with good convergence coming and going. Todd's coat is harsh
and plentiful: lots to groom, but easy to maintain.
Todd boasts
a strong head, elegant length of
neck, scissor bite, tight feet and good topline. In the field,
he located and worked his first time out, displaying the promise
of a becoming a dependable working partner.
On subsequent outings, Todd's enthusiasm has been just as high. We're bringing him along
gradually, introducing him to a variety of quarry. We're looking
forward to reporting his future progress
and accomplishments.
